Planning Applications
The South Derbyshire District Council (SDDC) website contains details of all planning applications, past and present. These can be found through this link and typing in "Hilton" in the "Location Keyword".
Alternatively the SDDC map portal can be used as a way of navigating to a specific location.
Planning
Hilton Parish Council automatically receives all planning applications for Hilton, Marston on Dove and Hoon from South Derbyshire District Council Planning. At the Parish Council meeting every application is reviewed and comments and objections, where appropriate, are agreed and subsequently submitted to SDDC Planning.
Whilst the review has to be in line with current planning law, regulations and the Local Plan including the policies of the Neighbourhood Plan, the Parish Council can bring local knowledge to bear e.g. local traffic issues, flooding, etc.
In making comments and objections, the Parish Council tries to make constructive suggestions or requests conditions to make the application acceptable.
The Parish Council has no power of approval or refusal. This rests solely with SDDC Planning, either with a Planning Officer or for bigger or more controversial applications, with the Planning Committee.
- Planning Applications objections
The Parish Council has been very active in responding to Planning Applications as they have been submitted to South Derbyshire District Council. Our main focus is ensuring that due diligence is evident in the planning process which in turn assures good housing developments that recognise the current circumstances of the village
